What WordPress Plugins Do I use?

The amount of plugins I use might actually surprise you.

Honestly I do not use very many and I am really only going to list the ones that I use on this site.

I might use others on other sites but for simplicity sake I will only talk about the ones that I use on this site.

This will also stand as a good reference for anyone who wants to make a site that looks like this one.

Before I even get into what plugins I use I feel like I first need to mention what theme I use here. I mean lets be honest, when it comes to the look and feel of the site, the theme has much more to do with that then any of the plugins that I use.

For this site in particular I am using Impreza Theme.

This Site is Impreza Theme.

Outside of Divi, this is probabaly one of my favorite themes, however I will say I use Divi on all my client sites.

I use Divi on all my client sites.

Have I customized the theme to how I want it? Absolutely I have and just about anyone who uses any theme should always customize it, otherwise half the internet would literally look exactly the same and not just a little the same.

Now that we know what Theme I use, lets move on to the plugins.

Lets move on to the Plugins.

Lets start with the page builders.

The Page builder that I use on this site is…

WPBakery Page Builder

In my opinion this is probably one of the easiest page builders to use, this is especially true if you are brand new to WordPress and website building in general. Yes lots of other page builders exist but I just happen to like this one the best.

To go right along with that page builder I also use..

Ultimate Addons for WPBakery Page Builder

This plugin just expands upon the capabilities of WPBakery Page Builder.

Header Builder

This is just an awesome plugin that allows me to build custom page headers in awesome layouts and allows me to use all the elements that that WPBakery Page Builder has.

Convert Plus & Connects – GetResponse Addon

This is the plugin and addon that allows me to make that awesome email optin form that you can see on my home page. It also has a few other tricks up its sleeve that I havent fully taken advantage of like popup optins and exit intent popups and so much more.

A great alternative to this that I use on all my customers sites is Bloom and its a plugin that comes included in the Elegant themes membership which also happens to include my second most favorite theme Divi.

Then I obviously have the GetResponse Addon because well that is my email autoresponder of choice.

Google XML Sitemaps

This plugin helps improve my sites SEO and it is the recommended sitemap builder for faster indexing with google and other search engines. I feel I dont need to talk much more about this plugin.

Insert Headers and Footers

This plugin allows me to insert code into my sites header or footer section of my site. Such code might be for Google Analytics, Bing Analytics (Yes I also use Bing Analytics), Facebook pixel, Twitter pixel, Linkedin pixel, Google Ads, I mean seriously the list of tracking codes could be super super long.

ShortPixel Image Optimizer

The name of the plugin kind of says it all. I use this plugin to make sure that all my images are compressed and optimized for speed. I want to have a fast loading website and this plugin makes sure that all my images don’t slow me down.

Finally the last two plugins are

Advanced Custom Fields

Customize WordPress with powerful, professional and intuitive fields.

Custom Post Type UI

Admin panel for creating custom post types and custom taxonomies in WordPress.

Now I know what you might be thinking….

Thats not very many plugins, and well you would be correct.

I like to keep it that way. I don’t want to have too many plugins. More plugins means you ave to constantly be updating something and constantly making sure that they wll play nice with each other.

On this site in particular I am also using the hosting that is provided with the membership in Wealthy Affiliate.

This hosting comes with automatic backups, site security, FREE SSL, and a whole host of other things.

This allows me to keep my plugins to a minimum and have far superior hosting when compared to many others.

If and when I add a plugin then this list will for sure become much larger but for now this is what I use on this site in particular and everything works amazingly.

Cheers,

Spencer
